Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher's teen rom-com Never Have I Ever is back for Season 3, and this time, the Netflix show begins triumphantly: after two seasons of heartbreak and romantic mishaps, Devi Vishwakumar (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) is finally with the (one of the) boy(s) of her dreams. The show is based on the life of an Indian-American girl navigating through her life. John McEnroe, a tennis player, narrates the Mindy Kaling show, but in a recent interview, Maitreyi was asked which Indian actor she would pick to tell Devi's life story.
To this, the teen celebrity replied, “I’ll be biased. I’ll say Nayanthara. I loved her as a kid so this is more of a narrator for me. She was my childhood. I love her.” Well, we can’t disagree Nayanthara has a great voice and yes we all love her.
Maitreyi also spoke about her character development in season three and her journey throughout the three seasons. She said, “The third season is a definitive change for Devi. In season three, she catches herself almost moving on. And that’s really scary. Letting go can be really tough and it’s very exciting and heart-warming to see Devi go through that journey,”
Meanwhile, the makers of the show have already announced that the fourth season will be the final season of the show. Mindy Kaling who is also the creator of the show expressed her thoughts about the show ending next season saying, “It’s a great place to end it. We knew what the ending would be when we started it. But you know how it is to launch a show — it took years. It’s like having a baby. I like the writers. I love this group of people. So we’re saying goodbye, but I’m sad about it.”
