Panchayat's second season is listed as the third most viewed show after Rudra: The Edge of Darkness and season three of Aashram. Check out what is so special about the series:-

The story of the series is pretty simple. It showcases engineering graduate Abhishek Tripathi, played by ‎Jitendra Kumar. He takes up employment as a subordinate administrator in Phulera. It is a small fictional village in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. His pay is poor, with his poor workplace becoming his new home for him. It is a squat building with three rooms that make up the dusty, desolate office of the Panchayat (village council). His colleagues are simple rustic men, less educated.

He spends days solving the mundane problems of the villagers with help and guidance from the council members and his nights worrying over power outages and his lonely existence.

He was Desperately looking for a way out. He started studying at night, preparing for an exam that would brighten his job prospects and get him out of Phulera. But as days, weeks, and months go by, Tripathi becomes less irritable, and friendships are formed. There's even the possibility of some romance.

In a country with a stark rural-urban divide, Panchayat, streamed on Amazon Prime, offers a glimpse into village life to its subscribers, who mostly live in cities and know little about rural India.

The story of the youthful mandarin and his simple associates sharing a lot of humor and affection appears to have struck a passion with the followers.

Look at the response received by fans to the Panchayat series:-

The author and retired council school teacher of English literature in the northern megacity of Chandigarh, Neel Kamal Puri, says, "The series has a perfect balance on many scores. It neither romanticizes nor vilifies rural life; it has lively humor but is not flippant because it talks about many serious, pertinent issues."

Saibal Chatterjee, author and film critic, said, "everyone got hooked on to the show because it is so relatable, so real." He adds, "Most series nowadays are about spies and the underworld, so Panchayat takes you by surprise during all the action-packed shows. It's a story of real people doing very real tangible things."

He further said, "And what makes it special is that it's very insightful, but it is very entertaining at the same time and is not stodgy. It talks about serious issues but in a very light-hearted way. It's funny, but the intent is serious."

"But it's difficult to run away from serious issues," he also mentioned.

Panchayat was "an exceptional show," which mounted out for its "intense presentations" and was "very nuanced in the understanding of its characters."
