Part of Hansal Mehta's acclaimed scam franchise, ‘Scam 2003’ delves into the infamous stamp paper scam, valued at over Rs 30,000 crore. Directed by Tushar Hiranandani, the series features a talented ensemble cast including Gagan Dev Riar, Sana Amin Sheikh, Shaad Randhawa, and Mukesh Tiwari. Unfortunately, shortly after its release on Sony Liv, "Scam 2003" fell victim to online piracy, with reports indicating that the entire series was available for free download in high-definition quality across the internet.
It's worth noting that ‘Scam 2003’ draws its inspiration from Sanjay Singh's book ‘Telgi Scam: Reporter's ki Diary’. Tushar Hiranandani, the director of the series, expressed the immense pressure he felt to do justice to the compelling narrative. Throughout this journey, Hansal Mehta provided unwavering support and guidance, ensuring the project's success.
Despite the piracy setback, ‘Scam 2003’ has garnered decent reviews, with particular praise for Gagan Dev Riar's portrayal of Telgi. Audiences are now eager to see if it can match the high standards set by Pratik Gandhi's ‘Scam 1992’.
