According to a list issued earlier this year by Ormax Media, 'Farzi', which marked Shahid Kapoor's debut on the OTT platform, was the most-watched Indian web series, beating out other highly anticipated ventures such as 'Mirzapur' and 'The Family Man'.
Notably, the industry tracking organisation published a list of the top ten most watched Indian online series over a single season. 'Farzi' received 37 million (3.7 crore) views, according to the list. A DNA article further reported industry insiders as predicting that the views will have crossed the 4 crore mark in the coming months.
While 'Farzi' came in first place, 'Rudra: The Edge of Darkness' came in second with 35 million views. 'Mirzapur' and 'Panchayat's' second seasons also made the list, with 32 million and 29.6 million views, respectively.
With 29.1 million views, 'Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors' was ranked sixth. The 'Family Man Season 2', 'The Night Manager', 'Taaza Khabar', 'The Great Indian Murder', and 'Scam 1992' were among the other online series on the list.
Farzi, which is available on Amazon Prime Video, marks Shahid Kapoor's first foray into the OTT arena. The programme, directed by Raj and DK, delves into the realm of counterfeit money.
