Award-winning filmmaker Tigmanshu Dhulia on Tuesday announced that he has wrapped up the first schedule of his upcoming streaming show Garmi. The team was filming in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. Garmi revolves around student politics and boasts of a cast featuring newcomers. Once ready, it will stream on an OTT platform.
“Finished our first schedule of Garmi in Bhopal worked with a lovely bunch of first-time actors was frustrating at times but rejuvenating and a totally new experience this is what film MAKING is all about," Dhulia wrote on Twitter.
If reports are to be believed, Garmi stars Mukesh Tiwari, Vineet Kumar and Jatin Goswami in lead roles.
Dhulia, who is known for the National Award-winning film Paan Singh Tomar (2012) and Sahib Biwi Aur Gangster series, had previously tackled the theme of student politics in his 2005 directorial Haasil, starring Hrishita Bhatt, Irrfan Khan and Jimmy Sheirgill. The film is considered to be one of Dhulia's finest works and has attained a cult status over the years.
The filmmaker most recently directed The Great Indian Murder. Starring Richa Chadha and Pratik Gandhi in lead roles, the series premiered on Disney+ Hotstar.
