Morgan Freeman is an American actor, director, and narrator known for his characteristic deep voice and several roles in various film categories. He has received multiple accolades, including an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a Golden Globe Award in his entire career spanning over five decades. He has merged with Taylor Sheridan's next Paramount+ series 'Lioness.' The series stars Nicole Kidman, and Zoe Saldana is also an executive producer with Laysla De Oliveira.
According to the recent Hollywood Reports, Freeman will play the role of Edwin Mullins, the US Secretary of State, in a paramount+ series, 'Lioness.' Saldana plays the role of Joe, the station chief of the Lioness program, tasked with training, management and principal to her female undercover hands. Whereas Kidman plays Kaitlyn Meade, the CIA's senior supervisor, who had a long career playing the politics game and was required to "juggle the trappings of being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community".
It is based on a real-life CIA programme which follows Cruz Manuelos (De Oliveira). The Hollywood Reporter states, " a rough-around-the-edges but passionate young Marine recruited to join the CIA's Lioness Engagement Team to help bring down a terrorist organization from within."
Nicole Kidman, Zoe Saldana, Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hebert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur and Hannah Love Lanier are also a part of the 'Lioness' series.
It is executive-produced by Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Saldana, Kidman, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Malone and John Hillcoat, and produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+.
