Filmmaker Apurva Asrani Backs Priyanka Chopra And Opens Up About The Campaign Against The Actress In Bollywood

When asked on that podcast why she made the switch from Bollywood to Hollywood, Priyanka responded without hesitation, stating that she was cornered in the business and had decided to take a sabbatical because she was weary of the politics and wanted to explore new opportunities. Apurva Ansari, a well-known film editor and director best known for his work on ‘Satya’, ‘Aligarh’, ‘Made in Heaven’, and other blockbusters, recently made some shocking revelations about how a campaign was launched against Priyanka in 2012 by a strong lobby to damage her reputation and drive her out of the business. Apurva claimed that the article was released at the same time as Priyanka's two successful films, ‘Barfi’ and ‘Agneepath’, and that this was done to prevent her from developing as an actor.
