In an interview, Utkarsh Sharma and Simrat Kaur talked about 'Gadar 2' and how the famous 'handpump' scene was shot. Utkarsh, who played Tara Singh and Sakeena's son in the movie, talked about how hard it was to film the scene in this day and age, when everyone on set has a phone. "When we made 'Gadar in 2001,' things were different," he thought. Now, everyone on set has a cell phone. When they hear about 'Gadar 2,' they want to film something on set and upload it." Utkarsh said that the 'handpump' scene was kept secret during shooting so that there would be an element of surprise and anticipation. This kept people guessing and excited about what was going to happen.
He also said that the scene was shot early in the morning with only Sunny Deol on set. When the scene was being filmed, neither Utkarsh nor Simrat were there. He remembered a small problem that came up during filming because people were so excited. When the site for the shoot in Lucknow was made public, a lot of people gathered around the property, which included the famous handpump, making it impossible to film there. So, in order to keep the element of surprise, the site had to be changed.
