Om Shanti Om: Shocking! Pakistani Actor Javed Sheikh REVEALS Charging Rs 1 For Shah Rukh Khan’s Film; Netizens Slam Him - ‘NO SELF-RESPECT’

Javed Sheikh is one of the most talented renowned actors hailing from Pakistan. But he disappeared from the screen after a ban on Pakistani artists in the Hindi film industry. He has been famous for his acting and was critically acclaimed by his performance.

Recently Javed sheikh shared an anecdote working in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Om Shanti Om.’ He portrayed the actors' father in the film. He was honoured to play such a role and he did not charge any money for it. In contrast, it does not fit well with netizens and they slammed the senior actor over self-respect.

Javed Sheikh recently spoke in an interview, discussing his experience working on Bollywood films. He discussed Farah Khan's hit movie 'Om Shanti Om' during the same exchange. Speaking about, he explained how he was approached and the reason he declined to be paid for his role as Shah Rukh Khan's father in the movie. He said that playing SRK's father in his biggest film to date was an honour for him. He thought there were plenty of actors in India who would have been eager to play the role, but the team ended up choosing him. Javed Sheikh was honoured that Shah Rukh Khan and Farah Khan chose him for the particular role.

He shared, “Their manager came to me, said they needed to sign the contract. I said, ‘yes’. ‘What will be your fee?’ I said I won't take any money.” The team was surprised and after a long conversation, he suggested, “You go and tell Shah Rukh I will take just one rupee. I'm not joking.” ‘Om Shanti Om’ team sent him a paycheque. After watching the first cheque Javed was surprised and shocked.

This didn't sit well with Pakistani internet users, and Javed Sheikh faced criticism. He received criticism for having no self-respect to demand payment for his laborious efforts, according to the website Reviewit.pk.

A user commented, “This is what you call not having any self-respect. The man didn't even charge any fee for his job.” Another one wrote, “Dunno why they put Indian actors on such pedestals.” One user commented, “Omg that's again showing them how little we are and you are our superior. Regards how big they are. You should get money for your work. No one works for free.”
