The Indian box office seems to have finally reawakened post-pandemic, as ‘Gadar 2’, OMG 2, Jailer, and ‘Bhola Shankar's collective weekend earnings have etched a remarkable milestone in the 100-year history of Indian cinema.

Renowned film analyst Taran Adarsh reported that Gadar 2, OMG 2, Jailer, and Bholaa Shankar have collectively garnered an impressive gross box office collection of over ₹390 crores, attracting a combined footfall of more than 2.10 crore. This achievement marks an unparalleled "ALL-TIME Theatrical Gross BO record in 100+ year history."

The Multiplex Association of India and Producers Guild of India have officially acknowledged and celebrated this historic feat.

They wrote, “CINEMAS MAKE HISTORY AS JAILER, GADAR 2, OMG 2 AND BHOLA SHANKAR TOGETHER CREATE SENSATION AT THE BOX OFFICE. MULTIPLEX ASSOCIATION OF INDIA (MAI) AND PRODUCERS GUILD OF INDIA (GUILD) ANNOUNCE RECORD BREAKING NUMBERS

“- Combined Gross Box Office of Rs. 390+ Crore over the Weekend across All India Theatres.

“- Combined Admissions of 2.10+ Crore over the Weekend across All India Theatres - Cinema Industry is back in full action.

“National, August 14, 2023: The Producers Guild of India and Multiplex Association of India announced that 11th-13th August was their busiest single weekend post re-opening. The weekend set a new All-time Theatrical Gross Box Office record for the Cinema Industry in its 100+ year's history. The weekend drew 2.10+ Crore moviegoers to theatres across the country, which is also the highest combined Admissions record in the last 10 year history”.

‘Gadar 2’, since its release, has surged ahead with astonishing numbers, amassing a commendable ₹134.88 crores within a mere three days.

In contrast, the power of positive word-of-mouth promotion has fueled ‘OMG 2's success, resulting in an impressive collection of ₹43.11 crores within a span of three days.

‘Jailer’, a cinematic offering starring Rajinikanth, has achieved a remarkable collection of over ₹160 crores within a four-day span.
