‘Gumraah’, a recently released movie starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur, has lost money after only five days in theatres. The box office results clearly show that the audience has rejected the movie in its entirety. ‘Gumraah’ had the worst performance on Day 4 as it only raised Rs 60 lakh. Aditya's highly appreciated performance in The Night Manager was followed immediately by this. At this pace, the movie might soon be taken out of theatres.

The audience and reviewers' reactions to ‘Gumraah’ by Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur were conflicting. However, its box office performance is extremely underwhelming. Reports state that the movie saw a significant dip on Day 5, April 11, again. With stars like Aditya and Mrunal, it only managed to make Rs 60 lakh at the box office, which is a very small sum. According to reports, ‘Gumraah's’ entire domestic revenue is currently at Rs 5.10 crore. Recent films like Dasara by Nani and Bholaa by Ajay Devgn are rivals to ‘Gumraah’. On April 11, the movie had a 7.62 percent Hindi occupancy overall.

Vardhan Ketkar, a first-time filmmaker, directed ‘Gumraah’. Producing the movie are Murad Khetani's Cine1 Studios and Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. April 7, 2023, saw its theatrical debut. Thadam, a Tamil film, was remade into the criminal thriller. Along with Ronit Roy and Mrunal Thakur, Aditya Roy Kapur plays two roles in the movie.
Sub Inspector Shivani Mathur, who has been tasked with looking into a man's murder, is the focus of the ‘Gumraah’ narrative. Two suspects who resemble each other but are unrelated to one another are discovered by her. As Shivani learns additional information regarding the case, things grow more difficult for her. Songs for the movie were written by Mithoon, Tanishk Bagchi, Vishal Mishra, and Abhijit Vaghani.
