Sikander Kher Biography

Sikander Kher is born to Bollywood actress Kirron Kher and Gautam Berry on October 31, 1981 at Mumbai. His step-father being, the veteran actor, Anupam Kher. Being brought up in a Bollywood family, even he was influenced towards films, right from his childhood days.

After schooling, instead of attending college, he headed towards the film studios. At the tender age of 15, he worked as an assistant director to the legendary, Yash Chopra, while filming 'Dil To Pagal Hai'. Keeping his interest in mind, the casting director had offered him 'Dil Chahta Hai', to play Sameer's role, which was later played by Saif Ali Khan. At that point of time, Sikander felt the need of more experience behind the camera, before executing in front of it. So, he continued as an assistant director to the phenomenal director, Sanjay Leela Bhansali in the film 'Devdas'. By working with these two prodigious directors of Bollywood, he learnt a lot from them. As he didn't own any bachelor's degree, he joined short-term six months acting course at National School of Drama.

After a decade of experience behind the cameras, he finally commenced his acting career in 2008, with Sanjay Gupta's, 'Woodstock Villa'. For a sheer performance in his debut film, he was praised for his studding screen presence and fluent dialogue delivery. Same year, he was seen in another film, 'Summer 2007'. Next, he went on to star, alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone in Ashutosh Gowariker directed, periodic film, 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey'. He is the actor with stern personality, therefore, he starred mainly in action-thriller films like, 'Players' and 'Aurangzeb'.
