Fans have been debating Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber for years, especially after the latter married Justin Bieber in 2018. Many think Sel and Hailey were feuding at the start of this year when the model posted a TikTok video in which she reportedly fat-shamed her husband's previous partner. As previously said, these debates have been ongoing for quite some time; the two divas both have a "G" tattoo behind their ears. Let's have a look at why they got the tattoos and what they mean to them.
From 2010 until 2018, Sel and JB dated on and off. Because of their large fan base, the two were dubbed the 'It' pair in the music industry. During that time, JB also dated Hailey briefly before the two got serious in 2018 and married in an intimate ceremony.

The purported long-term dispute between Hailey Bieber and Selena Gomez is heavily involving their supporters, who do not miss an opportunity to criticise one another. Their similar cursive G tattoos behind their left ear are also a source of contention. Many people believe Hailey has plagiarised the ‘Only Murders In The Building’ star, however this is not the case.
The narrative begins in June 2015, when Hailey Bieber disclosed on Instagram that she had gotten a cursive G tattoo. She explained that the tattoo was in honour of Zoe Church's pastor Chad Veach's daughter Georgia, who was born in 2012 with a congenital brain abnormality. Carl Lentz, the now-disgraced ex-Hillsong pastor, pioneered this tattoo craze in 2013. The tattoo served as a reminder to pray for the young girl. Justin Bieber, who attended the Zoe Church, also received a G tattoo.
Selena Gomez received a similar tattoo the same year and was first seen wearing it in the month of June. While there were numerous rumours that the singer was also following the church, Sel stated unequivocally that it had nothing to do with the Veachs. The actress told Refinery 29 in October that the cursive G tattoo was a tribute to her then-2-year-old sister Gracie. Selena is incredibly close to her younger sister and is frequently seen with her in public.

So, it appears that Hailey did not imitate Selena Gomez, and their admirers can stop arguing about the tattoo. But why she got it in the same area remains a mystery.
