‘The Evil Dead’ series has been around for quite some time. It even precedes a surprising amount of horror names. ‘A Nightmare on Elm Street’, ‘Scream’, ‘The Thing’, and ‘Child's’ Play all follow in the footsteps of the iconic grindhouse picture. It has managed to maintain its relevance more than those, with well-received sequels and even a TV series that was popular until it was canceled.
‘Evil Dead Rise’, directed by Lee Cronin, will return the Deadites to theatres. As in previous Evil Dead films, demons will be unleashed when a family unwittingly reads summoning sections from the Necronomicon, the Book of the Dead. Every trailer for Evil Dead Rise has terrifying material, and early reviews hail the film as one of the franchise's best installments yet. So, it's no surprise that ‘Evil Dead Rise’ is one of the most anticipated films of 2023.
