7 Most-Awaited South Movies Releasing In 2024: Pushpa 2, Kantara 2 & More
The craze for South movies has witnessed a massive growth in the last few years. Movies like 'KGF', 'Baahubali' and 'Pushpa' have shattered several box office records and made it to the list of highest grossing Indian movies ever made. 2024 is going to be an exciting year for movie buffs as some of the biggest south movies will be hitting the theatres.
Most-awaited South movies releasing in 2024:
1. Kalki 2898 AD
'Kalki 2898 AD' was previously titled 'Project K'. This one of its kind film has an ensemble cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, Prabhas, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani. It is a sci-fi film based on dystopian world. The film is written and directed by Nag Ashwin.
Kalki 2898 AD Release Date: This film is expected to release on 12 January 2024.
2. Devara
'Devara: Part 1' is an upcoming Telugu action drama film featuring Jr. NTR alongside Bollywood actors Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan. The makers announced that 'Devara' will be a two part franchise.
Devara Release Date: The makers are planning a pan-India release on 5 April 2024.
3. Game Changer
'RRR' actor Ram Charan will be next seen in political action thriller film titled 'Game Changer'. It is directed by S. Shankar and produced by Dil Raju. Ram Charan will be seen sharing the screen space with Bollywood's popular actress Kiara Advani.
Game Changer Release Date: The film is expected to release in April 2024.
4. Kanguva
'Kanguva: A Mighty Valiant Saga' is an upcoming Tamil period action drama film directed by Siva. It features superstar Suriya in multiple roles. Bollywood stars Disha Patani and Bobby Deol will be making their Tamil debut with this film.
Kanguva Release Date: The film is scheduled to be released theatrically in early 2024.

5. Pushpa 2:
After the phenomenal box office success of 2021 film 'Pushpa', the makers are all set to release its sequel in 2024. Allu Arjun will return as Pushpa Raj in the most awaited sequel of the Telugu film. Other cast includes Rashmika Mandanna and Fahaad Faasil.
Pushpa 2 Release Date: It is scheduled to release on 15 August 2024 on the occasion of Indian Independence Day.
6. Indian 2
Next year, director S. Shankar is returning with the sequel of his blockbuster Tamil film 'Indian', which was released in 1996. As the film's sequel is coming after 28 years, the excitement among fans is quite high. The first part featured Kamal Haasan, Urmila Matondkar and Manisha Koirala. Though Kamal Haasan will return as male lead in Indian 2, the female cast in 'Indian 2' includes Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh.
Indian 2 Release Date: The film might be released on 15 August 2024.
7. Kantara 2
Actor, writer and director Rishab Shetty will be returning to the silver screen with 'Kantara 2' next year. It is a sequel to his blockbuster Kannada film 'Kantara'.
Kantara 2 Release Date: It is expected to release in late 2024.
