Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo: Isha Talwar Reveals Accidentally Hurting Her Left Eye Before Commencing Shoot
Isha said that her daughter had urged her to keep out of the light for three days before starting the shoot. However, she disagreed.

Isha Talwar, who portrays Bijli in the brand-new online series 'Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo,' was struck in the eye with a squib by accident as they were filming a night-time action scene. The actor has disclosed that her co-star Deepak Dobriyal drove her to several ophthalmologists, who advised her to sleep in the dark. She ultimately spent three days in complete darkness.
Isha portrays a member of Dimple Kapadia's clandestine drug mafia and one of her in-laws. In the programme, which also features Radhika Madan as the daughter and Angira Dhar as another daughter-in-law, she appears in various action sequences. In the series, Deepak Dobriyal portrays their adversary.
Isha said in an interview about getting struck by a squib, “Since we were shooting in the salt pans in the middle of the night and it was too dark to see where the squibs were, the shot accidentally went straight into my left eye. My eye was swollen and I could not open it.”
She continued by saying that her daughter had urged her to keep out of the light for three days before starting the shoot. She, however, disagreed with the director Homi Adajania's suggestion to use a body double for the action scenes.
Disney Hotstar has been broadcasting 'Saas Bahu Aur Flamingo' since 5 May 2023. It centres on the matriarch Savitri (Dimple), who manages Rani Cooperative, together with her daughter Shanta, daughters-in-law Bijli and Kajal, and a neglected village in northwest India called Hastipur.

Isha said that the main reason she wanted to do the show was to work with Homi Adajania. According to Homi, the show wasn't about four women running a narcotics ring. He said, "Frankly, it's not about the drug itself, it is much more. So, flamingos is the brand of product that these guys sell. It also has a quirkiness to it, the fact that in that region there were a lot of flamingos. So, it's the name as well. We just decided to go with that. It isn't just a story about women and a drug cartel... It's much more than that."
